Check this out... I think it would be faster if the download and upload files were bigger. The upload was done in probably less than 2 seconds. Download in probably less than 5 seconds.

Assuming that test was accurate, I would try to run some tests that take longer.  Just like with wget, you download one small file it will claim to download at x speed which is much higher that it actually did.  However, if those numbers are accurate... I hate you   sillystick

They really need a bigger chunk of data to upload. It flies by in less than a second, which will prevent getting an accurate reading.

But there were a lot more servers that I tested but these were the cream of the crop.

I found that most speedtest websites were either blocked by the government or they did not have fast enough servers, or they were for use in the states which lowers the overall speed I get.

very nice.  I guess they have probabilly blocked Speakeasy's speed test.  Altho with them you would have to check against a US based server

Blocked by the Government??  Ouch.
All though, here is my speed test from work   lol

I did about 9 different tests and this was the best one.  Although when I get better reception on the 3G card, I have gotten closer to the 1.5mb I should be getting.  I am currently getting -86 dBm strength.  Kinda crappy, oh well, thats what I get out at the track.

No speakeasy's is available, but like you said... it is against a US server... my ping typically went from 40-60 within Europe to 200-600 in the US.

So much for my 3000/512 I am going to have to call them... and if I don't get my speeds I may go to another lower priced plan. My first bill came yesterday and it is going to cost me almost $300, because of the activation fee and things like that...

cable right? if so you should know it's a shared network. otherwise don't forget about your ATM overhead. I'm on a 1.5/384 line, but I only get 1.4/335

I'll do a speed test when all my bandwidth isn't being used up... so it may be a while.

That's a little better. I know that cable is shared based, but I had just never actually done that well on any speed test. But I don't know how many I have done at 2AM.
