Well I am having some problems with my desktop, I will be on it with no problems and all of a sudden, no sound from speakers and my moniter light is blinking like it does when it isn't receiving a signal.  Also when it does this I can't get the CD Rom to eject the discs, I am going to go through all the connections tomorrow and make sure my power cables aren't loose, but if that doesn't work, what would you think it could be?  I replacede the power supply last year, so that better not be it.  Any help will be appreciated.

After checking ALL cables unplug the power supply for about 15 minutes.  When checking your cables, completely detach them before tightening them back down.  Also listen to see if your computer beeps.  If so count the beeps.  This is your computers way of telling you what is wrong.  Also if it beeps check your motherboard's manual, that will help diagnose the problem.

Well it doesn't beep and I'm thinking that the motherboard is dead. Amazing that $50 will last for 2 yrs huh, if thats the case I have to find one that will work with my computer without changing a lot of stuff.  Hopefully nothing

The best thing to do right now would be to take the computer into a repair shop.  There they could tell you if it's just your power supply.  In most cases you can get them to test it right in front of you.  If it's dead just say "damn, well I don't have the money right now for a new power supply.  I'll come back next week after I get paid."  This way you may avoid getting charged for the visit.  ^_^

Boy... doesn't it figure that things start going bad once I am half way around the world?

Anyway that sucks. Check on newegg for Socket A motherboards. That is the type you need for that processor (assuming it is the motherboard that is bad).

To double check the powersupply you could also check the voltages in your bios and see how close they are to what they should be.

A quick google search for 0x00000050 gets you this: http://www.google.com/search?q=0x00000050&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
then, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329293
This tells you what to do to help fix the problem.

Remember, google is your friend.

I went there, but I already have sp2 for a long time, it was working fine until today, so would that still be the problem?  I will still try it out though.  I'll update when I get a chance, probably tomorrow

Well it seems that the blue screen comes up when I am playing Diablo, what would cause that?  Considering the only thing I have done different today is download the update for ZoneAlarm , Any ideas there?  I am on my laptop now and nothing has been happening.  Anyway, on the desktop, it looks like the only skt A motherboard are some brands I've never heard of, I'm thinking of upgrading to skt AM2 and getting a AMD Athlon X2 4400, but then I would have to upgrade the memory and then I might as well upgrade the video card and have a brand new computer

Have you tried playing other games to see if this happens.  If it only happens while playing games it could be caused by your video card getting to hot.  This will happen with age.  You could try to clean out the card and computer with some canned air.

But, I know how you feel when the computer won't boot.  I went back to my room after a smoke and my computer was off.  I turned it back on, it ran for about 5 min then turned off with no BSOD or anything.  My power supply died and it stunk really really bad.  Damn, now I have to get a new one.

*EDIT*
YAY! New PSU is installed! Computer seems to be working good.  Altho I probably shouldn't play any games on it for a few days, let it slowly get broken in.  ^_^

I don't have any other games for it, but it does the BSOD within 2 min of starting, so I don't think it is getting too hot, and about the old card, it is only 1 1/2 yrs old so it shouldn't be that old

Well I have been looking at new laptops and I find one that I kinda like, and I wanted your opinions, this laptop seems to work fine for stuff Emily wants to do, so she can have it and I'll get me a new one.  Any way here's a link to the site

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/HP-Pavilion-15-4-Widescreen-Notebook-PC-DV6426-US/sem/rpsm/context/outlet/oid/184838/catOid/-12963/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

I would probably upgrade to 2 GB RAM, and as much as I hate Vista, I can live with that, or just put XP on it
